My plane landed late last night at RDU after an amazing week *glamping* in Wisconsin with my fellow lady bosses in Jenna Kutcher’s 2018 mastermind.
I left Camp Wandawega with 17 mosquito bites on my left foot, a partially singed eyebrow from attempting to start a camp fire, and a renewed sense of energy to create BIG IMPACT with you, friend!

There was one particular exercise we did this week together during our mastermind that I wanted to share with you, in hopes that you would be inspired + energized by doing it in your own life.
Okay, so this exercise comes with a warning label: it’s awkward as heck in the beginning!
Here’s how it went it down.
There are 20 women in my mastermind and each of us had to take a turn in the hot seat. The interesting part? Everyone else had to pretend you were invisible.
As I sat down, I had to put an eyemask over my eyes, and then Jenna set the timer for 5 minutes and everyone had to talk about me like I wasn’t in the room. And I couldn’t say a word!
“Em is so…”
“I wish Em knew how awesome she was at…”
“Em should launch…”
“Em’s strengths are…”
At first, it felt so uncomfortable to accept all of the positive words of affirmation coming my way.
But then? I found myself quickly starting to embrace their words as truth.
These women know me. We’ve been journeying together since January every month and some of us even connect daily.
And I knew if I let their love + encouragement pour into my soul that it would give me the energy to serve others without feeling depleted.
What about you? Are you feeling depleted?
If the answer is yes, you’re in really good company with probably most of your friends.
My challenge for you this week is to do your own version of this exercise.
Maybe there’s not an eye mask and 20 other women involved. Maybe it’s done over a 1:1 coffee date with a friend.
Regardless of the details, we need to be women who remind our friends of their gifts + strengths. And we also need to allow others to remind us of ours…and believe them.
To the hot seat,
