--> Over 7 days and 7 nights, all lodging, adventures, 3 meals a day, transportation, business workshops, and every last logistic will be managed by us. Just show up with open hands to what awaits you!
EXPLORE THE RICE FIELDS + THE CULINARY SCENE
--> We’ll begin the morning learning the ancient art of rice growing. We’ll join the in house team of farmers on an organic rice field walk and learn all about planting rice, maintaining rice terraces, and harvesting. You will even get dirty, getting ankle deep in a rice field planting rice seedlings yourself.
--> Get ready for cooking class! We’ll tour our retreat center’s organic garden, pick fresh produce with the gardener, and then create a delicious Balinese dish with your harvest. The Chef will teach you about the Balinese cuisine and techniques so you can replicate the flavors when you go back home.
EXPERIENCE THE AUTHENTIC CULTURE OF BALI
--> We’ll learn from the locals about the Balinese way of life, the meaning of offerings, how to create them with our own lives, and we’ll experience a group blessing. After dinner, we’ll enjoy a traditional Balinese dance performance that will blow your mind!
--> On another day, we will go back in time to the ancient temple of Gunung Kawi, carved into the mountainside in 1000 BC. We’ll then head to Tirta Empul Sacred Water Temple, where locals have gone for centuries to be blessed by the multiple fountains of clean holy water. We’ll enjoy lunch over looking the splendid ancient rice terraces of Tampaksiring and will enjoy an optional swim.
--> Complimentary morning yoga sessions are offered every day at 8am in the yoga shala overlooking the rice fields.
BICYCLE THROUGH THE RICE FIELDS
--> We’ll go deep into Bali’s countryside and witness first hand the daily life of rural rice farmers and craftsmen. We’ll have a morning coffee with a Mt. Batur view, then cycle (downhill!) for the next two and a half hours with a wonderful guide. Throughout the ride, you’ll experience the people, villages, rice fields and farms. Our tour will end with a traditional Balinese lunch, hosted in a traditional Balinese family compound.
CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH A SUNRISE HIKE UP MT. BATUR
--> Located in the Kintamani, the summit of Mt. Batur can be reached in about 1.5-2 hours. You’ll see spectacular scenery during the hike, and will enjoy a tasty morning breakfast cooked by the steam of the active volcano. After our hike back down, we’ll relax in the natural wonder of the local hot springs!
CHASE THE WATERFALLS
--> My friend Pardi has hand selected the 2 picturesque waterfalls we’ll be discovering - you may have seen images of them floating around on Pinterest or instagram. After a moderate hike, we’ll take a swim (+ pictures!).
ENJOY A MASSAGE AT OUR HOTEL’S FULL SERVICE SPA
--> We’re booking everyone in for a one hour massage during your last day, and this might be the most gorgeous spa you’ve ever walked into. Pink velvet chairs that overlook the rice fields, beautiful tile, sweet decor… it’s the perfect place to relax before heading home!
